Ram started tattooing in 1988. He did his apprenticeship with Fred Smith III, and tattooed part-time as he attended art school at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts. After several years he left school to tattoo full-time and became known as Boston's premier tattoo artist. He cites Aaron Cain, Eddie Deutsche and Guy Aitchison among his most important influences in tattooing. Among other places, he has worked at Juli Moon's in Seabrook NH (whom he credits as one of his earliest influences) and at Everlasting Tattoo in San Francisco California. He has also worked many tattoo conventions. Ram continues to work on other types of visual art as well, including painting, pinstriping, woodcarving, and sculpture. You can see examples of some of his artwork in the artwork section of the site. There are many pieces for sale and he can be commissioned as well. Some of his other passions are his family and pets, skateboarding, surfing and snowboarding. He is the owner of Fat Ram's Pumpkin Tattoo. The name was inspired by his love of Halloween, which also happens to be his birthday
